History of Leadership and Partners

 TIMELINE

 2007  Founded by Nancy VanApeldoorn

 2007–2021   Nancy directed the daily operations of Lap Robes for  Veterans .

 2015  In partnership with Canandaigua National Bank’s, Finger Organization achieved  501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

 2021 Nancy and Bruce relocated to New Bern, North Carolina, where she continues  her mission and vision as FLACE Lap Robes for  Veterans II serving Eastern North Carolina.

 2021 Pat Verhagen and Sue Morris assumed leadership of FLACE Lap Robes for Veterans, they embraced its mission of  honoring those who served our country. Under their stewardship, the organization continues to thrive, ensuring Veterans receive service-specific lap robes while inspiring the dedicated volunteers who lovingly create and distribute these meaningful expressions of gratitude.

Currently she is serving as Acting Associate Medical Center Director for the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System.
